AVOIDING THE NEXT ENRON
It is likely that you or someone close to you has been adversely affected by well known frauds such as Enron, Bre-X or the more recent Sino-Forest. As an investor, hearing these names is enough to make you cringe and debate cashing out of the markets totally. Companies such as the ones noted above were large scale frauds that lost investors, institutional and retail alike, significant sums of money. These organizations were able to deceive investors through ‘creative’ accounting, complicated business structures and flat-out lying.
